

Leonard C. McMeans (Leroy), 81, of Bradenton (formerly of Dayton Pa.) son of Bernice and Arthur McMeans, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 after a prolonged illness. He was born December 6, 1936 in Cowanshannock Township, PA. He grew up in Dayton, Pennsylvania, the second oldest of five children.
Leroy will be remembered as good-hearted and always ready to help, whether it be stranger or friend. His good nature and sense of humor never went unnoticed. Leroy served in the U.S. Air Force, SAC for a term of six years. He retired from the Teamster Local 341 in Pittsburgh, Pa. representing the Heavy and Highway Industry, after years of hauling heavy equipment primarily for Brodhead Construction Company, Zelienople, Pa.
He is survived by loving wife Jan McMeans, daughters Jody Dean (Lowell) of Dayton, Pa., Kelly Crissman (Brian) of Yatesboro, Pa., son Jeff Lerner, Ford City, Pa. stepson Gary Roberts (Antje) Palmetto, FL. brother Ernie McMeans (Bonnie) of Dayton, Pa, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and various nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by parents, brothers Cecil and Bernon, twins Ronald and Donald, sister Joanne Griffin and one granddaughter.
A celebration of life will be held in the near future, in Dayton, Pa.
The family is grateful for condolences, but declines flowers and donations.
