

Mardell Lovella Schoenbeck, 98, of Bradenton, Florida died January 8, 2025. She was born March 4, 1926 in Chicago, IL. She lived in La Grange Park, IL for most of her married life. She moved from La Grange Park, IL to Bradenton, FL in 1980 with her husband of 55 years, Herbert E. Schoenbeck. Mrs. Schoenbeck was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Henry and Connie Schoenheider, sister Grace Wildermuth and son-in-law, Paul Pavich.
Mardell and Herb owned several businesses in Western Springs, IL including The Tower Gift Shop. She was an avid bridge player most of her life. While living in La Grange Park she was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. After moving to Bradenton, Florida, Mardell was involved in the Hope Seeds ministry as well as being an active member of Hope Lutheran Church. Her love for playing bridge continued even after she moved into assisted living.
Mardell made friends wherever she went. In her later years when she was not able to talk she still made friends with every person she met. She loved to hear the stories of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her smile and her laugh never left her. Many people were touched by her kind and gentle spirit. Those that will miss her so very much include her daughters Carol Cleveland (Randy) of New London WI, Jane Pavich of Bradenton FL, and Sue Ann Toopes (Andy) of Bowling Green KY. Other survivors include 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Hope Lutheran Church in Bradenton, 435 26th St. W, Bradenton, FL 34205.
