Michael F. Rogan passed away peacefully after a short illness in Bradenton, FL on November 27, 2022. Michael (Mike) was born in Newton, MA, on October 4, 1936, the son of the late John Rogan and Jennie (Faselle) Rogan.
Mike grew up in Newton, MA and graduated from Newton High School in 1955. In 1960 he proudly graduated from Massachusetts Maritime Academy along with Donald Lynch and Francis (Franny) Doughtery, the "Newton 3", where he started his naval training and lifelong love of the sea. During the 1960 & 70's he was the owner of Rogan's Sporting Goods, Newton Corner, MA (established ca. 1935). He eventually made the move to focus on the marine industry. He had a successful career for the next 40 years captaining private yachts, managing marinas and as a project manager for a large yacht building and repair company. He married his beloved wife Cynthia in 1991 and their travels brought them to many ports along the east coast including Buzzards Bay, Savannah and Southern Florida. Every project brought him more friends and successes.
Mike was a gifted athlete and excelled in tennis, golf, softball, hockey, and motocross riding. He continued motorcycle riding for pleasure his entire life and was on his last ride 2 weeks prior to passing at age 86. Mike lived a very happy and long life.
Mike leaves behind his love with; Wife: Cynthia Lacy Rogan; Children: John McKenna Rogan (Salli) and Michele Rogan Heinrici (Alexander) and his Granddaughter: Rian Geraldine Murphy Rooney (William).
Mike also leaves behind the mother of his three children: Dolores Cardillo Rogan Brems, who remained a gracious friend to Mike and Cynthia throughout the years.
He was a perfect father, husband, grandfather and a loyal and generous friend to all.
Later in the Summer there will be a memorial to disburse his ashes into Buzzards Bay on Cape Cod along with those of his daughter; Kenna Ann Rogan Murphy, her son Michael Patrick Murphy and his beloved dog: Lucy.
