

Philip F. Barone, DDS, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, died on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 84 years of age. He was born August 30, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York. An alumnus of Fordham University and the New York University College of Dentistry, Philip raised his family in Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ and practiced dentistry in Westwood, NJ for 45 years. His practice, Philip F. Barone, DDS and Associates, PA, continues in the care of his son Robert.
Philip was a devout Catholic, devoted family man, and committed member of his communities. He was a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, St. Thomas More Council 2188 in Westwood, NJ. As a member of the Fathers’ Club of Don Bosco Preparatory High School in Ramsey, NJ, he helped to raise funds for the school’s “new library,” dedicated in 1988. A longtime parishioner of the Church of St. Gabriel the Archangel in Saddle River, NJ, Philip participated in establishing a dental clinic at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Newark, NJ.
He was married to his wife, Elizabeth, for 61 years. Along with Elizabeth, he is survived by 11 children: Dominick, Vincent, Michael, Peter, Robert, John, Paul, Anna, Catherine, Thomas, and Stephen. He had 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Philip is preceded in death by his parents, Dominick and Anna Barone, and his brothers Frank, John, and Anthony.
