

Phil grew up in New York City, the middle child of 3 children. In his teenage years he moved to Wells River, Vermont where he completed High School. He entered the U.S. Marines during the Korean War where he earned a Purple Heart. He returned to Vermont to help on the family farm. He met his wife, Irene Caswell, and they were married in 1954.
Phil and Irene resided in Monroe, NH where they raised their family. He worked at the East Ryegate Paper Mill for 38 years. He started as an operator and retired as Plant Manager. In Phil’s spare time he was an avid gardener and was known for his green thumb.
After retiring Phil and Irene moved to Bradenton, FL and eventually became permanent residents in Florida. They enjoyed a very active social life in their community until their later years.
Phil was a devoted husband to Irene, having celebrated their 70th anniversary. He was a loving father to Sherry (Brian) Soucy, Anita (John) Cookson and Philip (Amy) Basch, Jr. He was also a cherished grandfather to several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his 2 sisters.
He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
