

Phyllis A. Pike Hall died at home in Sunnyside Village on March 21, 2015. Born April 27,1917, in Boston, MA, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Bertha (Williams) Nickerson. Phyllis lived in Lexington, MA until the family moved to Libertyvillle, IL in 1957. She was employed by the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church for 8 years and by Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary (GETS) for 9 years. At the time of her retirement, she was Assistant to the President of GETS. She moved to Sarasota, Florida in 1979. Phyllis was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and an active volunteer in the church, Sunnyside Village and the community. She was President of the Literacy Council of Sarasota for 3 years. Travel, needlecrafts and reading were among her leisure pursuits.
She was predeceased Arthur B. Pike, her husband for 54 years; Donald L. Hall, her husband for 9 years; Joseph W. Pike, a son; Donald E. Reed, a son-in-law; and Jim Eadens, step-son-in-law. Phyllis is survived by daughters Meredith Dornemann (Rudolph) of Germantown, WI; Dorothy Reed, Ruth Bieber (Kenneth,Sr.) and step-daughter Donna Eadens of Sarasota; and a step-son Rick Hall (Tammy) of Richmond Hill, GA; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren and 1 step-great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at Sunnyside Village Chapel, 5201 Bahia Vista St., Sarasota, Florida 34232 on Tuesday, April 7th at 2:00 PM.
