Richard was a proud Air Force WWII veteran stationed at a SAC Base in Dayton, Ohio. Richard worked for Dewitt Dry Cleaners for over 30 years. Working very hard on the establishment of such a successful continuing integral business in CNY. He was a long time member of the Presbyterian Church in Cazenovia, New York. Also, a dedicated member of the Cazenovia Rotary Club and Masonic Lodge.
Richard is survived by daughter Kristin Smith; son Kurt Rohr; and the twins, Stephen and Susan, also with 6 grandchildren, and 6 greatgrandchildren.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife Suzanne Rohr; father Theodore Rohr and mother Mary Helen Virkler Rohr; brother Alton Rohr and brother Bernard Rohr.
Music was his passion. He started very young in his elementary/High School in Lowville, NY, from there he got the town of Cazenovia to build the band stand structure that lives today at Lakeland Park on the lake of Cazenovia. Then when he and his late wife, Suzanne moved to Florida he organized bands that played at Ice Cream Socials and such. Then he met the Suncoast Mummers Band of Bradenton, Florida. He and his tuba could be heard at every practice and every show. The organization granted him a lifetime membership for which he was very proud.
For those of you who love music like he did and hear a tuba playing, we hope you think of our loving father, Richard Rohr.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Richard's memory may be made to the Suncoast Mummers Band of Bradenton, Florida, all proceeds go to student music scholarships.
