I often wondered where Scott was.  I went to elementary school with him in Ewing.  So sorry.

The Missing Piece                                                                                                                      

Mom is now with her husband, our dad and her mom, my Pearly May, but something was desperately missing. God had saved you as a baby for he knew then that you would be desperately needed and in desperate need of the same.  Mom is at peace now with her baby boy and with your suffering gone. My family grows bigger with you and smaller with me. It's a clear starry night here in the Poconos but it's raining inside as tears roll down my face and onto my writing. Oh how Patches is happy. My love, kisses and hugs that I won't want to let go of to all. I'm completely drained. Mom please tell Daisy that her daddy loves her To the Moon and Back. Remember when you took such good care of her and would feed her in her little bed. My little brother Scott I hope when we see each other again my arms around you will stay as long as they can. My love to you, Glenn, your older and only brother.

It was late at night and into the early morning hours when I             
added some of my memories of my brother Scott. Now because you are allotted a certain amount of space which I exceeded by just a tiny bit I had to begin from the end and work my way upward to the very first page. By doing this the words I wrote which took several days would be read in the order they were meant to be read. When I started  reading what I had wrote I thought I had done what in the beginning seemed very unlikely. I came very close and I remember typing the page that is not here. It follows this so read on and maybe you'll even laugh.

Fast forward to the end. They arrived safely home and onto the driveway so what could possibly go wrong from there. Oh my.  A whole lot went wrong. The bricks that once stood between the two garage doors came tumbling down and a lot found the warmth of the hood a good resting place. Scott was very smart for his young age and if anyone thought he had something to do with it his story would quickly erase that from their mind. So he picked up the phone and called the Police. When the officer arrived he told him what must have happened. Someone had stolen his father's car. Realizing what they had done was not a good idea decided they had better return it and look what they did.

In the Beginning                                                                                                                        

When I was nine years old and my sister Laurie eleven our parents sat us down to ask us one question which they already knew the answer to. Would you like a dog, I'm sure they chose the word dog instead of puppy making it easier for us to choose or a baby brother or sister. What nine and eleven year old could resist  having a little puppy. The words our parents heard well you could only imagine. I don't remember when but probably soon after we got our puppy and named him Corky we were sat down once again. No question this time only a statement. Guess what kids you're going to have a baby brother or sister. The cradle was placed in our living room with Scott nestled inside and Corky on the floor lying by his side.

The Turn                                                                                                                                            

A beautiful day let's go to the park. With Scott in his stroller and the park insight a quick detour to the Candy Shop seemed all right. A gum ball for Scott and what was to be the first scariest moment of my life. Onward to the park but somethings not right. The gum ball had lodged in his little throat and now unable to breath. I grabbed him from the stroller and raced back to the store. With Scott in my arms bouncing up and down and my finger down his throat the gum ball was out. It wasn't I who had saved you. God had intervened. He knew then of her desperate need for you and you for her. The park will wait for another day.

One Garage or another                                                                                                     

All I have written so far has taken place in Maplewood, New Jersey, our first home and Scott's first attempt at destroying a garage. It was just a small fire and I was able to put it out with a garden hose. A hose back then we all used to drink water from. Spring water. Who ever heard of spring water. Now his next attempt took place 2,500 miles away while Scott, mom and dad lived in El Paso, Texas. Now we all have taken our parents car for a ride without actually having a drivers license when they were out with friends. Laurie and I did and all we managed to do was stall it out only blocks from home. And then there is Scott. Limitations what limitations. The sky's the limit. I doubt if Lisa will ever forget this one after all she was a passenger.
                                                                                                    

Parallel                                                                                                                                      

There was Scott and Tyke along with Scott and John and a whole lot more of Scott and Tyke. There were many stories Scott told me and I'm sure he could have told me many more but some are just not meant to be shared. Sorry Little Bro but your best could only be Triple A compared to Ricky and me. Although we had some very similar ones. A small fire on the garage roof and a small fire on the side of a house. Dad's car coming to rest after knocking down a brick wall and Laurie's car coming to a rest on the brick steps leading to someones front door.

The Good                                                                                                                                          
Mr. Big Shot with your Big Wheel racing me up and down the driveway. Lake George with Robin on our own private island. A night on the town after the Lynyrd Skynyrd concert was cancelled. Triple A games. Our Tampa Bay boat trip. Throwing the nerf football to each other in the water while we talked. Beaching the boat on the shore of New Hope and then tasting a couple of the local brews. Our funniest moment ever was The Invasion of the Tomato Plants.

Surrounded by Life                                                                                                              

Imagine traveling at the speed of light a mere 183,000 or 187,000 miles a second and it would still take you millions of years to reach some galaxies. I can't. Life exist all around us. Fifty years or one hundred years life is just too short. Just a single grain of sand on the beaches we call earth. Every minute, every hour we breath life into our body should be cherished. Unfortunately there are many places on our dying planet  where people our suffering and their last breathe can come at any moment. One just came. Gone too soon my younger and only brother Scott. With your passing you have taken a piece of my heart that I'll never get back. I held out hope as little as it may have been that someday you would have come and lived with me. 

Darkness Overhead                                                                                                             

After moms death and I don't remember when but we were drawn closer once again. Our daily conversations would end with I love you and need you until that dark cloud blew in and stalled overhead. Now with just a puff of your breathe you can move that cloud and allow once again the sun to shine through. With your eyes opened wide you're able to see all that I've written just for you. No poem today. Just the facts mam, just the facts.

So sorry to hear the passing of Scott. 
 We remember his cute smile that would light up a room!! 
 He is in his forever home with the Lord.

You left so fast you took me by surprise.

If I could be granted one more wish, it would be to say my final good-byes
and tell you that I loved you and missed you, with tears that filled my eyes.

We shared so much in life, our laughter and our cries,
