STEVEN WAYNE OHLER
Steven Wayne Ohler, aged 65, passed away Monday July 6th in Bradenton, Florida beside the love of his life, his wife of 41 years (married April 21st 1979), Jean Ann Ohler.
Steve was born on December 16th, 1954 in Olathe, Kansas, the youngest of six children from parents Vernie Hugh and Mary Louise Van Tuyl and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Pittsburg State University in 1976. In his working life he leaves behind a considerable legacy as a proud engineer and executive for Puritan Equipment in Lenexa Kansas (where he met his wife), Zebco, Kenner, Fisher Price, Mattel, C3 and Jetta Company Limited along with the business he proudly ran alongside his wife, Impact Solutions.
In his private life Steve was an accomplished builder, artist, fisherman, musician and so much more… He was a devoted, communicative father; a compelling, animated raconteur; the most fiercely loyal partner, husband and friend you could ever ask for; a generous fun loving grandfather; a creative giant and generous connector of people. There was nothing Steve couldn't build or innovate and his loss is devastating not only for his immediate family and friends but for the hundreds (if not so many more) of the lives he improved. He was a giver who never made it about himself, a worldly but humble man with so many lifelong friendships and the undeniable pillar of his family, leaving behind an immeasurable wake of love, humility, bravery, generosity, mentorship and above all kindness.
Steve is survived by brothers Gary (Reba) and Patrick (Judy) and sisters Cheryl (Curly) and Cathy (John). His Children Amy (Kevin) Spears and Adam (Rebekka) Ohler and beloved Grandchildren Henry and Lucy Spears.
Preceding him in death are his brother Michael (Phyllis) Ohler and nephew Timothy Johnson.
A special thank you… no words can express our gratitude for the love, kindness and compassion given to us to celebrate Steve’s life and legacy. We love you all.
