Steve was born in Ashland, Ohio to Karen Heter and Terry Pearce on January 11, 1964. He attended Bayshore High and graduated in 1982. He worked as a telecommunications technician for Frontier, formerly Verizon, for 30 years. He was involved in the local softball leagues for many years, and was president of the Men’s Christian Softball league. For several years, he was the lead drummer for the worship team at Church of the Cross in Bradenton, and served on their Elder Board. He loved to fish, spending most of his free time on the water with his family and friends. He also enjoyed going to local shooting ranges, and playing poker with his friends – even if he lost. He was said to have the ‘gift-of-gab’ by anyone who met him, and was known to entertain with his many stories. He enjoyed watching Food Network, most notably Emeril Lagasse, and would use his talents to recreate the many meals he saw. No matter how elaborate the recipe, Steve could be counted on to indulge his friends and family with the unique and delicious recipes he had grown to perfect. He was known to be generous and kind, and never took anything too seriously. His pride and joy was his grandson, Kayden Matthew Pearce.
Steven is survived by his wife Brenda Pearce of Bradenton, Florida, his daughter Courtney Huntzbery and husband Matthew Huntzberry of Baltimore, Maryland, his son, Ryan Pearce and wife Kristen Pearce, grandson Kayden Pearce, and soon-arriving granddaughter, Vera Lynn Pearce of Bradenton, Florida, his mother, Karen Heter Pearce of Frederick, Maryland, his sisters, Annette Moore and husband Bill Moore, and Laura Pearce of Frederick, Maryland. He is preceded in death by his dad, Terry Pearce.
