Victor Hung Ngoc Vu, of Bradenton, Florida, born on February 19, 1944 in Ha Noi, Viet Nam, passed away at age 74 on September 19, 2018, with his family by his side. Victor was the loving husband of Felicia LanTong Vu for 46 years, and is survived by his daughters, Haily Vu Cavalluzzi and Haiyen Vu Thouverez; and grandchildren, Nicholas Cavalluzzi, Sophia Cavalluzzi, Remy Thouverez, and Lucy Thouverez. An avid learner of life itself, he enjoyed travelling the world, education, photography, videography, technology and listening to music.
He received his military education and training in the Vietnamese Naval Academy, Class 17 De Nhi Hai Su, in Nha Trang, Viet Nam. He then served as Lieutenant and Commanding Officer for the Vietnamese Navy, until immigrating with his wife directly to Bradenton in 1975. He later retired as an electrical engineer. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church and a member of Giao Doan Duc Me Lavang, Our Lady of Lavang Vietnamese Catholic Community at St. Martha Church, Sarasota-Bradenton.
Friends and family members may attend the visitation on Friday, September 28 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Robert Toale & Sons Funeral Home at Manasota Memorial Park. A funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 29 at St. Martha Catholic Church, 200 N. Orange Avenue, Sarasota, Florida, 34236.
