Boyd was born in Atlanta, Georgia, to Helen and Robert Barber on August 23, 1955.
He went to high school at North East High School in St. Petersburg, FL, and graduated in 1973. He went to FL Southern College in Lakeland, FL, then went to the Florida Police Academy and had a career in FL Law Enforcement. He was also a fishing guide for Roland Martin. Boyd retired from the US Post Office. He enjoyed fishing, golf, cooking, cruising, music, and playing the piano.
Boyd is survived by his wife, Linda of Bradenton, FL, his stepson, Travis of Bradenton, his sister, Mary Pierce of Jacksonville, FL, his brother, Wesley Blake Barber of Michigan, his niece, Victoria Barber of Michigan, and his nephew, Login of Winter Garden, FL. He is preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Robert Barber.
Boyd requested no services be held. In his honor, memorial donations can be made to the Methodist Children’s Home of FL, or the Human Society.
