William “Bill” R. Meyer, 70, of Sarasota, FL passed away on February 6th, 2022. He was born on December 11th, 1951 in Teaneck, New Jersey to parents Helen Irene Ballard and Bernhard Meyer. Bill graduated from Emerson High School in 1969, and was a part of the New Jersey National Guard. Bill lived in Emerson, New Jersey for 30 years, between Maybrook and Wallkill, New York for 20 years, and then Ravena, New York for 12 years before later relocating to Sarasota, Florida where he lived for eight years.
In his affiliations, Bill was a Trustee with the Moose Lodge, and a part of the Coeymans Historical Society. Bill loved to snowmobile, was an avid baseball fan, and volunteered as a firefighter.
Preceded in death by his mother, Helen Irene Ballard, his father, Bernhard Meyer, and his brother, Richard William Meyer. He is survived by his sister, Mary-Louise Meyer, his sons, Christopher Meyer (Jennifer), Thomas Meyer, Brian Meyer (Denise), and his grandchildren, Colin Meyer, Caden Meyer, Sophia Meyer, and Chloe Meyer.
A memorial service and mass will be held Saturday, March 5th, 2022 at 10:00am at Incarnation Catholic Church located at 2929 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota, FL 34239.
