“Woody” Hobart Joseph Coddington, 54, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 27, 2018. Originally from Poughkeepsie, NY, Woody settled in Bradenton, FL after serving in the United States Air Force. Woody worked for many years in the restaurant industry, eventually starting his own very successful painting business.
Woody is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Sylvia Coddington; his aunt Margaret Wood, mother-in-law Sylvia Kral, sister-in-law Jennifer Perez, nephew Nicholas Perez and wife Alejandra, great nephews Emilio and Elijah Perez, brother Glenn Coddington, several cousins and extended family and friends, including those at the Anna Maria Oyster Bar where Woody worked for many years. Woody was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Clara May Coddington.
Woody touched many lived with his laughter and smile and will be missed by many. Services for Woody will be held at 3:00 on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home, 1221 53rd Ave. East in Bradenton, followed by a Celebration of Life at 5:00 at Anna Maria Oyster Bar Landside at 6906 14th Street West, Bradenton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice or a favorite charity in Woody’s memory.
