Angelo A. Cocchiara

Angelo was born in Newark on September 10, 1957, to the late Dominick and Theresa (Amiano) Cocchiara. He was raised in Nutley before settling in Sussex County over 35 years ago.

Prior to his retirement, Angelo was a heavy machine operator for the North Jersey District Water Supply Commission, a role that reflected his reliability and strong work ethic.

Service to others was a defining part of Angelo’s life. He first served as a Volunteer Firefighter for Nutley, then continued that commitment as a Volunteer Firefighter and EMS in Hamburg, where he rose to Assistant Chief, and lastly served with Branchville Hose Company #1, where he served his community with a deep sense of responsibility.

Away from work and service, Angelo found peace in the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, pursuits that suited his appreciation for time spent in nature.

Angelo is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Cocchiara and his son, Angelo D. Cocchiara.
