Charles was born in Newton, NJ to the late Arthur R. and Hazel A. (Gould) Sutton and was a life-long Sussex County resident.
For over 30 years, Charles was a truck driver prior to his retirement in 2007. His years on the road shaped his strong work ethic and his love for adventure.
Charles had a passion for all things fast and loud— motorcycles, dirt track racing, NASCAR, old cars, and especially the iconic ‘39 Ford Coupe. When Charles wasn’t enjoying the roar of a loud engine, you could find him diving into a good book.
Above all, Charles’ greatest treasure was the quality time he spent with his family, especially his nieces and nephews, who brought him great joy.
Charles is survived by his brothers, Richard Sutton (Sharon), James Sutton, Michael Sutton (Deborah); his sister, Nancy Carrasco (John); his nephew, Joshua Sutton; his nieces, Rebecca Holt, Autumn Davis (Travis Waldron), Rachel Weiss (Paul), Katlyn Sutton (Myrna Aponte), Alexandra Sutton; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Maura, Bronagh, Eoghan, Meadow, Brooklynn, Amelia, and John Paul.
A Graveside Service will be held at Branchville Cemetery at 2pm on June 17th, 2025. Following graveside service, a Celebration of Life will be held at American Legion Post #157, 325 US-206, Branchville, NJ 07826.
