Colleen was born on June 29, 1948 to the late Charles and Eleanor Scrittorale. A life-long Sussex County resident, she graduated from Newton High School and worked as a customer service supervisor for various businesses in her community.
Colleen had a deep love for Halloween, a holiday that became her artistic playground each year. She crafted her own decorations and went all out to transform her home into a creative display for all to enjoy. Her dedication even earned her a feature in the local newspaper—a proud recognition of her passion. Colleen even adored waking up to find her yard TP’d on Halloween morning, a playful tradition that thrilled her year after year. If ever her yard was left untouched, her son Michael and his friends would sneakily step in to make sure she had her Halloween joy.
Colleen was an animal lover at heart, with a special fondness for horses and cats. She was also an avid artist and crafter and is warmly remembered for her boundless talent and imagination that extended well beyond holiday décor.
Colleen leaves fond memories to her son Michael Oliver (Theresa Sexton); her grandchildren Anthony and Isabella Oliver; her brothers James and Michael Scrittorale; her sister Kerry Williams; and her brother-in-law Steven Oliver (Joanne).
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 56 years, Russell J. Oliver, who passed away in June of 2023.
Services will be held privately by Colleen’s family at a later date.
