Dorothy was born and raised in Clifton, after getting married she moved to Paterson where she lived for more than 20 years. She then relocated to Wayne where she spent many years before settling in Branchville for the past 5 years. After high school, Dorothy worked in a cookie factory. Then, she worked for the DuMont Television Network in the quality control department as a parts inspector.
Dorothy was deeply devoted to her faith and her church, Grace United Presbyterian in Wayne. She was extremely active in the church serving as a Sunday School teacher and teaching in the Vacation Bible School program. She was also an adult leader for church’s Junior Missionary Society.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Chapman; her parents, William and Johanna DeMol; and her siblings, Marie and William. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Fenczak and her husband, Gilles; and her grandchildren, Troy Thomason, Jason Thomason, Marc Fenczak, and Dorian Fenczak.
Visitation for Dorothy will be held from 3 pm to 7 pm on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main St, Branchville, NJ. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in George Washington Memorial Park, 234 Paramus Rd, Paramus, NJ.
