Ellen Sue Rose, born on April 1, 1950, passed away on November 9, 2025, at the age of 75. A resident of Mount Bethel, Pennsylvania, Ellen lived a life filled with love, dedication, and cherished memories.
Ellen was born in Sussex, New Jersey, and grew up in Ogdensburg, New Jersey. She lived in Culvers Lake before moving to Pennsylvania nearly four years ago. Her early life was marked by a deep connection to her roots and a strong sense of community.
Ellen retired from Picatinny Arsenal over 10 years ago, after dedicating more than 20 years to her work. Her career was a testament to her commitment and perseverance. In her personal time, Ellen found joy tending to her flower garden, knitting, crocheting, solving puzzles, and going to garage sales. Her hobbies reflected her creativity and zest for life.
Ellen was predeceased by her parents, Ralph and Ada Pease, her husband, Robert Rose, her daughter, Jeannie Rose, and her siblings, Ralph Pease Jr., William Pease, Linda Estell, and Grace Estell. She is survived by her son, Donald Bonham, and his wife, Renee, her stepdaughter, Susan Rose, and her husband, Nick, as well as her beloved grandchildren, Raelee Bayles, Star Zahorosky, Christopher Bonham, Kayla Murray, Derek Murray, Lyra Murray and Liam Rose. Ellen also leaves behind her siblings, Shannon Decker and her husband, Bob, Naomi Phillips and her husband, Fred, Ronald Pease and his wife, Arlene, Donald Pease, and Charlie Hurd and his wife, Barbara.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main Street, Branchville, NJ. A memorial service will begin at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
Ellen Sue Rose will be remembered for her uplifting spirit and the love she shared with all who knew her. Her legacy will continue to inspire and bring joy to her family and friends. Condolences may be offered to the family below.
