Evelyn “Evie” C. Ingenito, 74, passed away on October 5, 2026. Born on November 7, 1951, in Secaucus, New Jersey, Evie was raised with deep Jersey roots that stayed with her throughout a life built on devotion, steady effort, and a gift for making people laugh when they needed it most. Evie resided in Frankford Township, New Jersey.
Evie was preceded in death by her father, Stanley “Bay” Supel; her mother, Sara (Pflugi) Supel; and her sister, Bette Jean Donnelly.
For more than 50 years, Evie shared a loving marriage with her beloved husband, Bob Ingenito. Their life together included years in Brielle, New Jersey, where they married, and later a move to Frankford Township in 1977—one of the many chapters Evie approached the same way she approached everything: with determination, warmth, and a sense of humor that could brighten a room without ever trying too hard. A beloved wife and mother, her family was everything to her, including her beloved son, Robert Ingenito, Jr.
In addition to her husband and son, Evie is also survived by her sister, Catherine Ryan (Tom); and her brother-in-law, Larry Donnelly.
Evie’s hands were rarely still, and her hard-working nature showed in the beauty she created all around her. She truly had a green thumb, shaping gardens and landscapes at home that spoke to her patience and care. She also enjoyed basket weaving, crafting baskets “suitable for your every need”—a practical talent delivered with Evie’s signature charm, as if to say that life is better when it’s both useful and a little more fun.
A dedicated supporter of 4-H for many years, Evie was especially proud of her involvement with the 4-H Sussex Squealers pig club. Her kind-hearted spirit was evident in the way she showed up for others—steadily, generously, and with the sort of easy laughter that made people feel they belonged.
Evie had a spirit and charm that captivated everyone she met. She could liven up any party, and just as importantly, she made everyone feel welcome—whether you arrived early, late, or wandered in not quite sure you were in the right place. With Evie, you always were.
Visitation will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main St, Branchville, NJ. Services will begin at 4 pm, at the funeral home.
