Joseph was born in South Amboy, NJ on November 11, 1955, to Joseph and Geraldine (Burns) Bruno. Joseph grew up in Spotswood and lived in Lacey Township before moving to Sandyston over 20 years ago. Joseph served honorably in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement, he worked various positions for DuPont in Parlin and Stokes State Forest.
Joseph had a deep love for being outdoors, whether it was hunting in the woods, fishing in quiet streams, or tending to his garden; he cherished spending time in nature. His love for being outdoors is what brought him to Sussex County many years ago.
Joseph is survived by his children, Joseph James Bruno, III and his wife, Kate, Lucas Andrew Bruno, Camryn Elizabeth Bruno and Audrey Anastasia Bruno; his former wife, Dawn (Feret) Bruno; his father, Joseph James Bruno, Sr.; his siblings, Karen Kierst (George), Kathleen Overbaurgh (Mike) and Michael Bruno (Carime) and his grandchildren, Brody, Lennon and Marley Bruno.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 12:30 PM at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
