Marion was born on December 27, 1935, in Newark, NJ to the late Joseph and Mary (Dojcak) Jastrabek. She was raised in Newark before moving to Culver’s Lake in 1969 where she raised her family and settled in Seaford, DE in 2014. Prior to her retirement, Marion spent many years working for Selective Insurance, where she was known for her dedication and attention to detail in her role in handling filing and office support.
Outside of her career, Marion was an active member of several community and social organizations. She was a proud member of the Red Hat Society, the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, and the Frankford and Sandyston Senior Club. Through these groups, she formed lasting friendships and enjoyed participating in a wide range of activities and events.
Marion especially loved to travel, embracing every opportunity to explore new places and create cherished memories along the way.
Marion is survived by her loving children, Joseph T. Kelly and Karen A. Willis (Fred); her grandchildren, Aaron Neswald, Ashley Rosario (Joe) and Mason Salinas; her great-grandchildren, Emilia and Chloe; her sister-in-law, Valentine Jastabek; her niece, Diane Fricchione (Joe) and her nephew, Steven Jastrabek (Lin). Along with her parents, Marion was predeceased by her first husband, Charles Kelly; her second husband, William Berliner and her brothers, John, William and Joseph Jastrabek.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 11 AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace R.C. Church, 209 US-206, Branchville, NJ with interment to follow at Frankford Plains Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 from 4 PM - 8 PM at Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main Street, Branchville, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made out to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 528 E Stein Hwy, Seaford, DE 19973 or St. Jude's Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Condolences may be offered to the family below.
