Stephen graduated from Phillipsburg High School Class of 1966 and Glassborough State College Class of 1970. He taught physical education and coached football, wrestling and track at Hopatcong High School, where he went on to be the Athletic Director for more than 20 years. Stephen was an avid skier, hunter and fisherman, he loved being outdoors. He enjoyed NASCAR races, RVing and gardening.
Stephen is survived by his wife, Linda Pellegrino; his mother, Rosella Trimper; his sons, Neil (Michelle) Trimper and Stephen R. Jr. (Lisa) Trimper; his step-son, Ryan McCarthy; his brother, Glen (Kathy) Trimper; his niece, Katelyn Trimper; his granddaughters, Noelle, Taylor, Ally and Morgan Trimper and Rhianna Rosati; and his former wife, Helen Wescott.
Receiving of family and friends will be held from 12 pm to 2 pm on Saturday February 4, 2023, at Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main St, Branchville, NJ; with a time of sharing at 2 pm.
