Thomas S. Carroll, 76, of Branchville, NJ, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025, at his home. Born on March 9, 1948, in New York, NY, he was the son of the late John Edwin and Janet Patricia (Flahiff) Carroll.
Tom grew up on Long Island and later lived in McLean, Virginia, Chatham, NJ and Cumming, Georgia, before making his home at Kittatinny Lake. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston College and went on to obtain his master’s degree from Seton Hall University. A man of great character and humor, Tom was known for his sharp wit and calming personality. He could always be relied on for a laugh and for bringing joy to any conversation. He found fulfilment in simple, meaningful moments, whether it was spending time with his two beloved cats, enjoying his favorite films, cheering on his local minor league baseball team, or visiting the lakes he cherished throughout his life, Culver Lake and Kittatinny Lake in Sussex County, NJ. His lake home, affectionately known as "Tommyland," was a gathering place for family and friends, a place where stories were told, laughter echoed, and peaceful moments were shared on the water.
Tom is survived by his brothers John (Terry) Carroll and wife Ginny, Tim Carroll and wife Kathi, and Todd Carroll and wife Debbie. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Alison Bradshaw, Amanda Lorey, Lauren Carroll, John Carroll Jr., Barbara Neisel, and Roger Carroll.
Holidays, family gatherings, and everyday moments won’t be the same without him. The warmth, humor, and joy he brought to those he loved will never be forgotten.
