William, known by many as Will, was born on February 26, 1987, in Newton, New Jersey, to Lory Woortman and the late Michael Henry Woortman. He was raised in Milford, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Delaware Valley High School in 2005.
Will was employed by Level One Construction and a proud member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners. He was deeply respected for his strong work ethic, skill, and dedication to his trade.
Beyond his professional life, Will is fondly remembered as the friend everyone could count on. He was the first to answer a call for help offering his time or tools, helping simply because he cared. His close friends were an immense part of his life and support and he considered them his brothers.
Above all else, Will’s greatest purpose in life was being the best dad he could be. He was deeply devoted to nurturing and supporting his family and was an incredible father to his two children, William and Maia, and a loving partner to his fiancée Dana. Will’s infectious and genuine laugh filled every room and will be deeply missed, along with his boundless energy, compassion, generosity, and remarkable talent.
Will leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and selflessness that will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Will is survived by his mother, Lory Woortman; his fiancée, Dana Cooper; his two children, William and Maia; and his siblings, Michael Martin and Marianne Houth; in addition to many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Will's Life will be held on Sunday February 1, 2026, from 2pm to 6pm with a Time of Sharing at 5pm at Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main St., Branchville, NJ.
