Daphne Joyce Lopez

Joyce was born in Bushyhead, Oklahoma. She and her family moved to California when she was six years old. She was a graduate of Liberty Union High School. Joyce married the love of her life in April 1946; and just celebrated 69 years of marriage. She was a homemaker for most of her married life. Along with one of her best friends they started a tailor business while their children were still in school. She later worked in a dress shop and then a shoe store in Brentwood.

Joyce is survived by her loving husband John; devoted daughters Dana Smith (Dale) of Paso Robles, Robin Peterson (D. C. “Pete”) of Salinas, Holly Masquelier (Joe) of Columbia. Six grandchildren Jason Smith (Heather); Kara Brown (Jim); Nicholas Peterson; Josh, Caleb and Samuel Masquelier. Six great grandchildren Tristin and Hayden Brown; Faith, McKenna and Grady Smith; Penelope Masquelier. She is also survived by her brother Dan Lewis of Florida; her sister-in-law Amelia Smith of Brentwood and brother-in-law Jess Lopez (Pearl) of Brentwood; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Joyce’s loving spirit will be missed by all that knew her.

At this time no services have been planned. Instead of flowers donations could be sent to the American Cancer Society or Meals on Wheels.
