Delores was the daughter of Kenneth and Adeline Miller. She lived with her parents until the age of 8, when their parents were divorced. Adeline and Delores moved in with Adeline’s mother Emily Manerick, where they lived one house away from the railroad tracks. When she was a kid, the train flagmen would throw her pieces of chalk, as the train passed by.
Delores was raised as a catholic, but she did not practice the religion after getting out of high school in 1957. Delores worked for a while in the local hospital.
Delores married Bill Kadzewick in Chicago in 1958. Diane their daughter was born in Chicago on March 4 1961. They move to Dakota Illinois in 1962, where Andy their son was born on March 2 1963. In 1972 Bill needed to find a better job. He found work at Memorex Corporation in San Jose California. The family moved to San Jose, California shortly thereafter. They lived in a house on Yuba Ave. in San Jose until 1979.
Delores worked at Sperry Univac for 10 years, until the company closed in 1986.
Delores and Bill were divorced in 1981. She used her portion of the proceeds, from the sale of the house to buy her own place, a condo on Persimmon Place in San Jose.
Delores met Rich Henderson in August 1984, and they were married on March 23, 1985. They lived on Gentian Ct. in San Jose until they moved to Brentwood in 1997.
Delores ran her company, Millers Electronics in Mountain View, CA. from 1988 to 1992, before going back to school to get an RN Degree. She attended San Jose Evergreen Community College from 1993 to 1995. When she tried to transfer to a 4-year college, she encountered several road-blocks that prevented her from completing her degree. She instead worked as an EMT until 1997.
After moving to Brentwood, she started working at In Home Support Care in 2000. She eventually took over the business from Millie Smith. Delores had to close that business in 2007.
Delores liked to sew, quilt, make fancy decorated cakes, tool leather and bead. What gave her the most joy was doing one of her crafts for someone. She just enjoyed helping people, whatever their need.
Delores became a member of the CCEC Soroptimist Club. As an active member she fully supported their fund raiser events. She remained a member until that chapter closed in 2014.
Delores is survived by her daughter Diane Kadzewick and her husband Rich Henderson.
