

Donald Ray Lasater passed away peacefully on January 13, 2017. Don was born in 1936 in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, the fourth of seven children born to William and Pearl (Helton) Lasater. At the age of nine, Don and his family moved to Brentwood, California where he graduated from Liberty Union High School in 1955. In 1960 Don began a 35 year career as a lithographer with the Continental Can Company; Don was a long standing member of the Graphics Communication International Union (GCIU). Don had many interests, including hunting, motorcycle riding and flying, earning his pilot’s license at the age of 36. After retirement, Don moved to Mountain Ranch, CA where he lived for several years before settling in Valley Springs, CA. Don will be remembered as a loving son, brother, grandfather and friend, but most especially as a loving and hard-working father who raised and guided his two sons through adolescence and adulthood. Don is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mary Jean Abney, and his brothers James, Richard and John. He is survived by his brothers Robert and Paul, his son John and his wife Beth, his son Ron, his grandchildren Ian, Kate, Sean and Morgan, his great-grandchildren Giselle, Kainoa and Kamden; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the Brentwood Funeral Home on January 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Brentwood, California.
