Faye P. Hanson was born to Ralph and Merna Thomas in Faith, South Dakota and is survived by her two brothers, Claude Thomas of Santa Clara,CA and Gene Thomas of Forestville, CA, and her son, Bob Hanson of Mt. Vernon, WA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orval J. Hanson in 1989.
In the early 1940's her family moved to San Fernando, CA. During WWII she worked at Lockheed as a "Rosie the Riveter". Faye and Orval met near the end of the war. They married at the Church of the Flowers at Forest Lawn and lived in Sunnyvale, CA.
Next they moved to Bethel Island, and then to Brentwood where they were active in the Eastern Star. She was well-known for her beauty salon which featured an extensive collection of salt and pepper shakers. Unfortunately, she ultimately had to sell her business as macular degeneration made it too hard to see the numbers. Shortly after retirement she moved to a mobile home park in Mt. Vernon WA to be closer to her son, Bob. Here she devoted herself to tracing the genealogy of her family and published a 215 page book.
Faye Hanson will be laid to rest in Union Cemetery in Brentwood, next to her mother and father.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of LIfe service at the Neighborhood Church 50 Birch Street in Brentwood on Saturday, February 28th at 11a.m.
