Jesse Howard Gibson passed away on Oct. 10,2013 after an 18-month
battle with lung cancer. He touched many lives with his gentle spirit, big
heart, and positive outlook on life. Jesse was born in Stockton, Alabama on
February 13, 1943. After 17 years in Bay Minette, AL he enlisted into the
United States Navy, where he proudly served for 20 years on various ships.
While on leave in Redwood City, CA, he met his wife of 45 years, Linda
(Checchi) Gibson. Following his Naval retirement in 1980, Jesse joined
Local 38, the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters union, out of San Francisco, CA.
His greatest joy in life was hunting, fishing and camping with his wife,
son's, and grandchildren. As well as the many weekends he and Linda spent
riding their Sea Doos with their dear friends on the delta, Lake Havasu, AZ
and Lake Shasta, CA. Jesse is survived by his devoted wife Linda, his two loving sons,
Anthony H. Gibson (Samantha) of Elk Grove, CA and Jesse J. Gibson (Sara)
of Orangevale, CA, his grandchildren Michael (Ellie) Smith, Gina Gibson
(Tyler Moser), Mia Gibson, Hollyann Gibson, Jayden Gibson, and Drew
Gibson, and his great grandchildren, Jamie Gibson Moser, and Jesse D. Smith
He is also survived by his sister Annie (Jim-Deceased) Nicholson, brothers
George (Cheryl) and Doug (Joann) Gibson all of Gulfport, Mississippi.
An open house celebration of Jesse H. Gibson will be held Saturday,
Nov. 9th at the Gibson Family Residence. Family and Friends are invited to
gather in remembrance of Jesse's life from 1 :00pm. - 4:00pm., with military honor flag presentation at 3pm.
