

Joseph Gerald Pimentel, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on November 11, 2025, in Discovery Bay, California. He was born on October 19, 1945, in Hanford, California, to Tony and Delinda Pimentel, the third of five children.
In the early 1950s, Joe’s family moved to San Gregorio, and later to the Alviso District, which became the city of Fremont in 1956. On August 26, 1963, Joe proudly joined the United States Navy, serving aboard the USS Mann and the USS St. Paul. During his service, he discovered a lifelong passion for cooking, often preparing meals for others with joy and generosity.
Joe married Katherine on June 26, 1971, and together they raised three children: Michael, Kevin, and Jodi. He dedicated his professional life to working as an HVAC mechanic, continuing to lend his skills to friends and family even after retirement.
A devoted member of the Discovery Bay Corvettes and the Discovery Bay Yacht Club, Joe’s love for Corvettes was unmatched. He cherished time spent camping, boating, and sharing adventures with friends.
Joe is survived by his wife, Katherine; his children, Michael Auer, Kevin Auer, and Jodi Frakes; Grandchildren Zach Auer, Amanda Auer, Jami Auer, and Joseph Frakes; great-grandchildren Lucas, Stella, Canon, Rhett and an additional Great Granddaughter that will soon arrive. Brothers Tony and Jerry Pimentel; and sister Rosemary Fracolli. He was preceded in death by his parents Tony and Delinda Pimentel and his brother Don.
Joe will be remembered as a hardworking, caring man whose light touched everyone around him. His presence will be deeply missed and his memory forever cherished.
