Joy Berneice LeForce passed peacefully on Thursday at her home in Brentwood, CA. She touched many lives with her caring spirit, strong sense of patriotism and was a mother-like figure to the many people that surrounded her. She is at rest now with her daughter and in the presence of the Lord.
Joy was born in Lomansville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Ada Stanley. Joy and her husband, C.V. LeForce were married sixty-one years and relocated to California in 1985 after residing in Colorado Springs and Parker, Colorado since 1954. Joy raised her two children and supported her husband in the real estate business known as Faith Realty & Development Co. She and her family enjoyed fishing, camping and exploring the Colorado Mountains and later traveled the world with her husband of six decades. Joy was an advocate for children’s charities and most recently focused on the gratitude and awareness of needs of disabled US veterans.
Joy was preceded in death by her daughter Aneeka Dawn (LeForce) Walker and is survived by her loving husband, C.V.; devoted children Scott (Clare) LeForce of Discovery Bay, CA; grandchildren Morgan T. LeForce of Discovery Bay, CA, Westin Walker of Santa Monica, CA and Travis Walker of Denver, CO. She is also survived by her loving sisters Vertice Bishop and Joyce Goke, both of Greensborough, N.C.
She will be remembered for her unfailing compassion, sense of humor, and strength of character, and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Friends and family are invited to her memorial service on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at the Brentwood Funeral Home, 839 First Street, in Brentwood, CA. 94513 – (925) 634-2171
