La Union, Philippines, to the late Anastacio and Juana Pajarillo.
She was studying at Far Eastern University when she was petitioned by her Uncle George Niduaza to migrate to the United States. She moved to San Francisco, California in 1955 and met and married Teodore Cachero Banayat in 1956. The couple had two children, daughter Mary Jean, and son, Theodore Junior. Macaria called them by their nicknames, Jane and Teddy.
She lived in many cities within the United States; San Francisco, East Palo Alto, San Bruno, Sacramento, Brentwood, Chicago, Houston, and many more. However, she lived and spent most of her retirement days in San Jose, CA. Macaria worked many jobs, but she was most proud of working at Kaiser Permanente Hospital. Prior to retiring, she received her tenure there as a Surgical Sterilization Technician. She loved working closely with surgical teams.
Macaria loved dancing and has passed on that love to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved being the center of attention with her sense of humor, smile, and laughter--something she passed down to her son, Teddy. She absolutely loved her Filipino foods, especially Filipino desserts--she passed this down to her daughter, Jane.
Macaria leaves behind her family legacy, daughter Mary Jean, son Theodore Jr., and daughter-in-law, Noelle; seven grandchildren, Tiana, Marcus, Leina, Amber, Sasha, Orlando, and Cameron; ten great-grandchildren, Bryce, Jalen, Sianna, Amaya, Journey, Taytem, Justice, Jaelyn, Maverick, and Remington. Macaria also leaves many loving memories with her cousins and friendships made throughout the years.
