Randy was born October 2, 1981 in San Leandro, CA. He is survived by his parents, Ken and Lisa Cook, older brother Brad and his family, grandparents Rene and Diane Croteau, and aunts, uncles and cousins.
He grew up in Antioch, CA, playing soccer, baseball and snowboarding throughout his childhood. He graduated from Antioch Deer Valley High School in 1999 and then attended the University of California Irvine. He later joined the United States Air Force and completed basic training at Lackland Air Force base near San Antonio, TX. He was initially stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base near Wichita Falls, TX and was later transferred to Travis Air Force base in Fairfield, CA where he completed his Air Force service in 2013.
During his time in the Air Force he trained in the field of Medical Laboratory Science. Upon leaving the Air Force he joined the laboratory staff at the San Mateo County Hospital in 2013 and worked there until his passing.
While in the Air Force he met Rowena Vito, the one special “someone” that he spent much of his life with until he left us. Together they created many memories and experiences, from their daily routines to all of their travels and adventures.
Though Randy could sometimes seem quiet, for those that knew him he was always described as someone that was kind, thoughtful and considerate of others. He was someone who liked to see the humor in things and still had that spark of being "young at heart".
Randy's ashes will be scattered in the mountains, a place he loved to have fun while snowboarding and experiencing nature's beauty.
Randy was greatly loved and will be forever missed by all that knew him.
