Hey Raymond, nothing new here. Just waiting for the fish to start biting. New job is pretty good, it keeps me busy. In the kitchen, on the cabinet I put the picture of you with the black bass that looks like 7 or 8 lbs. Your mom is coming along slowly. Haven't driven the corvette lately; too busy. Do they have corvettes there? Stay strong.

Ray and I met in 1969 when he became my neighbour's new roommate.  At that time Ray was going to school to become a history teacher and working at nights serving beer and pizza.  He was the older and experienced man of the world at the great age of 22 to my 18.  In our time together we had two wonderful and beautiful daughters, Jessica and Gina.  Ray was part of my life for 44-years with highs and lows but with having our children the number one priority of our lives.  Many people found it odd that Ray and I remained close, Ray would just shrug his shoulders and say “whatever, it works”.  Ray and Gabrielle have been part of my family all through these years.  As many of you know, Ray had an incredibly infectious laugh.  He would be watching slapstick movies which were so corny but you just had to laugh too because he would be rolling with laughter.  I will greatly miss Ray.  Love you Ray from your ex and friend Claudia.

My cousin Ray and I shared the same grandmother, Rose who along with my mother Bertha Tetreault were with him back east in Rhode Island when he was young. My mom was also born in Rhode Island and my grandma and mom called him 'young Ray' after my mothers' much beloved brother, Ray. My mom and grandmother called Ray home to peace, I believe. Many memories of him and his daughters growing up, Gabrielle and Ray had their wedding in my mothers' backyard, such a joyful event to my family.My Dad Chuck and I will

My brother Ray was so courageous and will forever remain in the hearts of many. A funny memory, is when I was younger and I didn't understand why cows could stand on the side of a hill without falling off. I was told, that on one side, their legs were shorter so they couldn't fall off. I remember this everytime I see a cow standing on a hill. The Monday's him and I spent together are very special memories.  We talked about many things and he even tried to teach me about politics. There will be a void in my heart until we are together again. I love you.

Son, when I became your mom and you my son, all the memories I will cherish forever. The bond between a mom and her child is unlike any other: words cant describe how I miss you. I will see you again. Love Mom

My best memory of Ray is from the many Christmas Parties at Kelley and Ceasar's Home 
from the last 14-15 years. He was always so caring about
how I was doing since I've seen him each year before. So caring,interested and helpful with advice. This particular year, we were all playing our usual party games, Gabe was in charge of reading the rules, as usual... He came in the room to watch us.. But stared at Gabe for a good few minutes.. With such Love in his eyes that no words were necessary.. She caught his eye... Smiled at him and the games continued. He watched her a little longer and then went back to the pool room with fellas... I thought to myself... That's True Love! To Gabe, he will always be not only in your heart but part of you.. True Love is Rare?I'm here if you need anything... Love You

Uncle Ray, what can i say other than you have been the best Uncle / Godfather this girl could ask for. I remember when i was younger you took Jessica, Gina and myself fishing, i didn't want to put the bait on the hook myself, so you did it for me. But before you could get the bait on, i started to reel in the line. Sorry i got the hook stuck in your finger. I will miss your smile and laughter. Chad loved the time he was out there with you and Gabrielle, it was all about fishing for him. I love you Uncle Ray, you will be forever missed, and I will never forget you.

Reading all the comments in Ray's Guest Book Brings joyful tears to my eyes. He would be so proud ! Ray enjoyed life and did the things he wanted to do. Fishing and Family were the most important things in his life. He caught plenty fish and Loved his Family with all his heart. It was Great to see his face light up when he spoke of Jessica and Gina! Then the Grand kids started coming, Wow he was on top of the world! He was also Blessed to have a Great Wife who allowed him to be himself and supported him in what he wanted to do. Gabe you were a wonderful wife and Ray knew it ! We all have a journey in life and only God knows when it will end. Ray put up a good fight to be with you guys as long as he could. He lives in spirit inside all of us and that will never end. Lets all celebrate his life by being the best we can be and keep our Great Memories Alive! In one of our conversations we promised each other whoever should pass first the other one would make sure he was there for the family. I will truly miss my friend but my promise will be kept as long as I live. Gabe, Gina , Jessica, Nathan, Lucas, Aliya, Gavin and Simone I am always a phone call away. We've always considered Ray part of our family, and we always will. From the many adventures on the Delta to the many Christmas parties, we will miss his laughter and presence. He will forever be in our hearts.

Gabrielle I remember when you first introduced Ray to my self and Araceli at the office.... he had such a warm kind hearted smile and presence about him. Gabrielle I will keep you and your family in my prayers ?

  The last vision I have of Ray is when he was here in Minnesota a few years ago. He discovered how the sun shining on his watch would reflect onto the floor and how my 80 lb. dog would chase the movement. He was like a boy with a new toy. He laughed so hard at my dog it made him take his watch off and really got her going!
    I am so thankful to have known him. He was a great man for my baby sister and he made her so very happy. He will be missed.

Oh, Ray, my friend.  You have supplied me with so many happy memories!  You were THE BEST traveling companion. You would try most everything; zip line in Guatemala (which we knew you were NOT eager to do---but did with zest), hiking up the longest climb to view an old cathedral that Gabe had to visit (also Guatemala), the infamous fishing trip to the Amazon where you held your own antibiotic drip-line pole in the canoe to the float plane to take you out to the hospital, our wild rides in the golf cart in Key West after a night out on the town. You were always so happy. You could exchange droll and witty barbs with David and the competition could be fierce. You were always the best, most caring friend. I would follow you anywhere. Thanks for the memories.

With Ray in California and me in Colorado, we logged many hours on our cell phones because of frequent, long conversations.  Ray always answered saying, "hey Michael how are you doing"?  "I would say, "forget about me how are you doing"?  He would always say, "I am fine".  Even on his worse days he would say that he was fine.  Ray told me everything, and at times he was pretty graphic; but, he never ever complained.

My last conversation with Ray he told me that he was okay with his situation, and was at peace with what was happening.  I told him he had a higher calling.  I explained that God had another plan for him.  He said, "Yes, I guess so." I said, "When you get where you are going reserve a table for us."  He said, "Hey buddy, don't worry, you can sit at my table".

I have many wonderful memories of Ray but the most thing I remember is Ray always let you be you demanded you let him be himself.  Ray had strong values and views but never tried to force his on others nor could anyone force theirs on him.

Ray we will miss you but never forget you. Peace and Blessings to the family during these difficult time.

I met Mr. Ray only a few years ago, but it was enough to know that he was a great man.  I remember the first time when I went to Mr. Ray's house.  I was excited about going fishing with the fishing rod.  I tried, but could not cast the bait to catch a fish and he showed me how to do it.  I'm sure he's in a good place and I hope to find him someday.

I have so many good memories of Ray, my father-in-law. Something I will always have in my heart is his kind smile and his great heart.  Ray welcomed me into his family about 18 years ago. He always supported me and loved me unconditionally.  I will always miss him and I will make sure his grandchildren remember him for the great human being that he was. Since I could probably write a book of all of the memories that I have of Ray, I decided to write a few of the many things I learned from him. #1 Fishing #2 How to be strong and when life gives you lemons, you throw them right back at it. #3 Fishing #4 How a man should drink a Budweiser from a glass bottle and NOT a can. #5 Fishing #6 A white man does not eat habanero sauce (He turned tomato red!) #7 More fishing! #8 How to be a great father and loving husband. Ray, I will always remember you.  I am blessed to be part of your family and to have walked this journey with you.

In the course of a year, I had 3 surgeries.  When I awoke from each one, my dad was there, holding my hand.  I remember, even in my groggy state, feeling reassured that everything would be alright.  Later, on another day, still recovering, my dad came and spent the day with me.  We watched a Dirty Jobs marathon on TV.  We snickered over all the nasty jobs out there and laughed at how we wouldn't want to do them.  Dad's laugh was one that would make anyone laugh.  It was such a burst of energy that came from him; it was contagious. In recent times, my dad has been very emotional.  He told me he needed to work on this wussy stuff.  I told him that I wasn't sure if I should give him a hug, since when I am upset, sometimes a hug makes me cry more.  He told me that anytime was a good time for a hug.  I am going to give him a hug in my heart every time I am missing him. I love you, Dad!

Grandpa took me to the Snake Museum.  He showed me lots of snakes.  He showed me a rattlesnake skull.  When we left he bought me a snake toy.  I will love and  miss Grandpa.

It is hard to believe that I was there for the beginning of "Ray and Gabe."  I remember the night they met at McGuire's in Arden Hills, Minnesota.  They were immediately both so enamored of one another.  I got to watch the relationship bloom, and was fortunate enough to be invited to participate in their wedding.  I was mad at Ray for taking my best friend away, but so delighted to realize that he made her truly happy!  It has been my joy to be able to call him friend, and my sadness to have to say goodbye...for now.

I remember when Grandpa let me sit on his lap to drive his boat.  We were going somewhere in the delta so we could ride the inner tube.  I liked riding the inner tube. It was a fun day! I love you, Grandpa!

I love playing the hand slapping game with Grandpa.  Even when we can't play, I love watching the video of us play together over and over and over...

I have so many wonderful memories with my Dad I am finding it so hard to choose just one.  One that  makes me smile is when I had been given tickets to a Sharks game from my boss at work.  I invited my Dad to come with me.  We planned a whole night of it going out to eat first before the game.  Every person we met from the waiter to the bartender my Dad had to proudly tell them that we were having a special father daughter date.  I had no idea how happy it would make him to be out with his daughter and that I had wanted him to come with me.  One of our last conversations he had smiled at me and told me I would always be his baby girl and I told him how much I loved him.  I will cherish every memory.  I love him so much and will miss him with all of my heart.

Ray, even tho I only met you 1 time, feel like I know you thru Gay.  If my wonderful cousin took you, it must mean you were a very special person and reading everything about you, seems everybody feels the same.  Now rest the battle is over.   With love Jeanette

I remember we were at a party in your backyard and Ray was behind the bar and several of us were discussing our ages and height. And Ray said his height and i couldn,t believe it, and i said stand up lets see. Poor Ray said I am standing. We sure got a good laugh.

Really enjoyed getting to know you, while our time together was too short, great memories to last a lifetime. Tight lines & Godspeed.

I met Ray in 2009 when he bought a dutch shepherd from us.  In the 4 years that followed I got to know Ray rather well,  I don't just consider him a client but a true friend! I'm going to miss the visits we had where we'd spend time talking about dogs,  training,  fishing,  and even political views!  Ray will be missed very much!

Gay, I am so sorry for the loss of your dear Ray. He definitely was a trooper, and did his best to stay with his family as long as he could. I know you will miss him, but you do have many precious memories. We are praying for you, and you know the supreme comforter. Love you,

Ray always had the biggest, brightest smile in the room. He would always give me this huge bear hug and he was always concerned with how things were going and how you were feeling. He was so proud of those ugly "white elephant" gifts that they would bring to the Christmas party every year. I will always hear his laugh as someone was opening one of those atrocious gifts that you never had to worry about someone else wanting! I love you Ray and I will miss you so much.....especially at our Christmas gathering. Always in my heart.

Ray, you will be missed by not only family and friends, but also the residents of Discovery Bay, who's interests you spent years protecting. You were a good friend, husband and father and you will not be forgotten anytime soon

Because of our logistics, Ray and I logged many hours of conversation on our cell phones.  One of our last conversations Ray told me that he was okay with what was happening to him. One of my many memories of Ray dates back to 1958.  I believe this marked the very beginning of his passion for fishing.  We lived in a beautiful country setting in Greenville, RI.  There were many days we hiked through the woods with our fishing poles over our shoulders and our tackle boxes in hand enroute to our fishing spot at a bridge of a rather large pond.  When I brought this memory up to Ray he was moved emotionally; but, he could not remember the name of the pond.  It was called ... Old Stump Pond ... it was given it's name because of all the large stumps of vegetation that grew up above the water.  Someday, before I pass, I would like to revisit the bridge in memory if Ray.

I know very little about Ray other than he was good to and for my sister, Gay; and for that he will be missed. Jean (Beau)

My dear uncle..I am happy that I was able to spend time with you when we came to CA. You took us to see a movie Coyote Ugly, Brian got to go fishing with every morning...these time will never be forgotten, it has been our best vacation...we live in MN so its hard to see you...in circumstances of another family death a couple years ago..for grandma clarice and shelly so were able to see you and have dinner...everytime visit was enjoyable...Uncle, you will be missed but I will cherish the memories forever....love you....

When we met, the first thing I noticed was your handsome blue eyes.  Monday, when I looked into those eyes for the last time, I still remember the butterflies I felt when you first asked me to dance.
