Ray passed away with loved ones by his side after a valiant five year battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years-Gabrielle; daughters... Gina and Jessica; mother Vicky; sisters Debbie and Linda; brother Michael; sons-in-law Vince and Juan; grandchildren Nathan, Lucas, Aliya, Gavin and Simone and his many wonderful friends and neighbors.
Ray was born in Providence, Rhode Island. He moved to San Jose, California with his family at age 10. He graduated from Overfelt High School in San Jose. After graduation, Ray went on to proudly serve his country in Vietnam and South East Asia. Upon his return, Ray worked in the semi-conductor industry for 20 years. At that time, he started his own successful computer company for eight years. After selling his company, they decided to pack up their bags and move to Discovery Bay.
As a resident of Discovery Bay for the last 15 years, Ray became an active member of the community. Ray served as a Director of the board of the Community Service District for 11 of the past 13 years. Four of those years, he was the President of the CSD.
Ray also dedicated his time to being a child advocate, otherwise known as a CASA for the San Joaquin County. During an eight year period, Ray served as a mentor and liaison with the court for 11 foster children.
In his free time, Ray enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was an avid Bass fisherman, taking every opportunity available to be out on the water. Ray has touched so many people’s lives and he will be loved and missed by all who knew him.
Friends and family are invited to a closed casket visitation on Sunday August 4, from 11am to 2pm at the Brentwood Funeral Home, 839 First Street, Brentwood. Funeral services are Monday, August 5 at 11am at the Hannah Nicole Vineyards & Winery, 6700 Balfour Road, Brentwood. Reception will follow 12:30pm to 4pm at The Discovery Bay Yacht Club, 5871 Marina Blvd, Discovery Bay.
