

She was born in New York City to John and Mary Galamaga on June 13, 1917. She graduated from Washington Irving High School at the age of 16. Therese worked for JP Stevens until her marriage to the late Frank T. Sullivan. During her marriage she was also employed by The Episcopal Mission Society. She and her husband lived and raised their family in Brooklyn, NY until retiring to Warren, Maine in 1973. After her husband's death in 1997, Therese lived part time in California, permanently relocating there in 2005.
Therese was an avid gardener, cook and seamstress, and excelled in all three avocations. Her recipes for macaroni and cheese and ham croquettes were renowned and looked forward to by her family. Therese's favorite places were Maine, England and Hawaii. She read voraciously, loved the library, and never missed completing the New York Times crossword puzzle. She loved her family, her friends, children, animals, books, art, music, dance, good food, and was interested in everything and everybody. Her warm and loving personality and sense of humor endeared her to all who knew her.
Therese is preceded in death by her husband Frank, son Mark and brother Walter. She is survived by her daughter Gail Lanpher and her husband Mark, of Brentwood, CA; grandchildren Jeffrey Lanpher and his wife Chris, of Brentwood, CA; Kristin Torgersen and her husband Gary, of Spring Hill, TN; Rachel Lanpher and her fiancé Ryan Hoover, of Spring Hill, TN; Luke Sullivan of Troy, NY; Tess Sullivan and her fiancé Kent Ellsworth, of Portland, OR; great-grandchildren Aiden Torgersen of Spring Hill, TN; Harper Lanpher of Brentwood, CA; and David Torgersen of Spring Hill, TN.
In keeping with Therese's wishes, there will be no funeral services. A memorial service is being planned at the family residence in Maine later this year.
