Thomas (Tom) Martin O’Loughlin, age 67, passed on Sunday, June 21, 2015. Tom worked 40 years and was retired from USS-POSCO Industries in Pittsburg, CA. He was a veteran and served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Born December 22, 1947 in Pittsburgh PA, Tom was the son of the late Thomas and Mary O’Loughlin. He is survived by his beloved wife and soulmate Sue O’Loughlin of 13 years; his son Dean and grandchildren Sebastian and Tristan O’Loughlin, son Thomas and daughter Julie O’Loughlin and their mother Theresa; step-daughter Laura and grandchildren Michael, Joseph and Ryan Banuelos; step-daughter Sandy and husband Sean and grandchildren Justin, Christopher and Breanna McKinney; great grandchildren Julian, Mariah, and Michael Jr.; sister-in-law Janell and brother-in-law Mike Dattke; brother-in-law Larry Ornellas; sister Alana Stine; sister Cheryl and nephew Josh Schaeffer; brother Jack O’Loughlin; brother Mike O’Loughlin and niece Christy Rolka; nieces Michelle Caudill, Lisa and Tina O’Loughlin; nephew Collin O’Loughlin; great niece Jennifer O’Loughlin; and brothers who proceeded Tom’s passing, Jim and Ron O’Loughlin.
Tom lived life the way he wanted. He was stubborn and strong-willed but we all loved him for it. He enjoyed many indulgences especially sweets. Cake was usually his first and last meal at any party. He was also happy spending time with his pets, crazy as some of them may have been to the rest of us. Yet somehow, animals were always drawn to Tom and the immense love and care he showed them.
A fan of all sports, Tom was and forever will be a true Raiders fan. He was most often seen proudly sporting the Silver and Black, having received tons of Raiders memorabilia from his family over the years. Tom’s last gift, a Raiders flag from his son Dean, honored his father the way he would have wanted to be remembered. Our loss is truly great but the memory of Tom’s smile, laugh and the love of all things Raiders will be with us for the rest of our lives.
