Andrew Ewing (Pete) Price passed away on October 12, 2015, at the age of 90. He was born on April 25, 1925, the son of the late Lellie Naive and Andrew Thomas Price. He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Ann Mitchell Price, and is survived by three children, Thomas M. Price (Carol), Allison Price, and David A. Price (Audrey); six grandchildren, Eliza Ann Larson of Los Angeles, CA, Christopher D. Price (Nancy) of Cleveland, OH, Emily Burden (Dave), Brian K. Price, Kimberly Price, and John Price (Sarah); and eight great-grandchildren.
Pete was a lifelong Nashvillean. He graduated from East High School and served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. Following the war, he enrolled at Vanderbilt University, where he was a member of Sigma Chi and graduated in 1948. He then worked as a revenue agent for the IRS and went on to become a Certified Public Accountant and to found his own firm, Price & Associates (now Price CPAs & Price Consulting).
Pete was a member of First Presbyterian Church, serving as an Elder and a Stephen Minister, and a member of the Martha O’Bryan Center Board (1990-1996; Board Chair, 1993-1995). He was also a member of the West Side Hospital Board of Trustees from 1973-1989.
He was devoted to his family and friends and clients, and he was well loved and respected in return. The family is deeply grateful to Dr. David Heusinkveld and the staff of Blakeford of Green Hills and Woodcrest at Blakeford.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 16, 2015 at one o’clock in the afternoon at First Presbyterian Church, 4815 Franklin Pike, Nashville. Visitation will be held in Cheek House from eleven o’clock in the morning until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church or Martha O’Bryan Center.
