Barbara June Moore, known affectionately as June, was born on January 24, 1928, in Nashville, Tennessee. She grew up in South Nashville as one of six children, alongside her beloved siblings—Patsy Fly, Nancy Young, Becky White, Jim Redd, and Bob Redd.
As a young girl, June’s father took her to baseball games, sparking a lifelong love of sports, especially Vanderbilt athletics. After graduating from Central High School, she worked as a retail associate and secretary. She later served for many years as the administrative assistant at her nephews’ veterinary clinic, where her warm presence and dependable spirit made her an indispensable part of the team.
In her twenties, June was footloose and fancy-free, often spending Friday nights at the roller skating rink—where she met the love of her life, Gene Moore. They were married for 52 years. June and Gene built a life together in Nashville, raising two children, Carol Cutsinger and Mark Moore, and growing both a family and a business. In retirement, they spent decades in Fort Pierce, Florida, enjoying spring training baseball and the warmth of a vibrant community of friends.
For 25 years, June, her sisters, and her daughter took an annual trip to destinations across the United States—from Niagara Falls to San Francisco. These adventures were among the great joys of her life and always included a stop at a Major League Baseball game.
June was a devoted wife and mother, known for her deep love of family. Her industrious spirit shone in every corner of the home—no one could outwork June in the garden or the laundry room. Most importantly, she loved the Lord and His Church and always had a favorite hymn in her heart.
She is survived by her children, Carol Cutsinger and Mark Moore; her grandchildren, Bryan Buck, Corey Moore, and MacKenzie Fanelli; their spouses; and six great-grandchildren.
