Barbara Shoemake

She was preceded in death by her parents, Owen Cayce and Margaret Currin Follis. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Shoemake Jr.; daughter Shannon Shoemake (Andy) Mizell; granddaughter Mary Margaret Mizell; cousins Steve Gupton, Marc Williams, and Bradley Williams; and close friends who were like family.

Barbara attended Brenthaven Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Brentwood and worked in the Nashville banking industry for over 30 years. Her greatest joy came from her role as a devoted wife to Joe, and as a loving mother and grandmother to Shannon and Maggie. She left a legacy of fierce loyalty and sacrificial love that will live on in those she held most dear. Her family and friends will miss her deeply.

Special thanks to the kind and compassionate doctors and nurses at Williamson Medical Center, especially Dr. Kerry Lynne Smith and Dr. Devin Sherman.

A visitation for Barbara will be held Thursday, January 2, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Brentwood Roesch Patton Funeral Home, 9010 Church Street East, Brentwood, TN 37027.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Paul Christian Academy in her honor.
