

Betty Wilburn McAnulty, age 87 of Brentwood, passed away peacefully surrounded by her beloved family on Sunday, October 26, 2025. She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas McAnulty and her parents Evelyn and Cordell Wilburn.
A native of Hartsville, Tennessee, she is survived by her brother Dr. Frank Wilburn (Charlotte), Tupelo, Mississippi; her three children, Cynthia Townes (Steve), Brentwood, Tennessee; Angela McAnulty, Franklin, Tennessee; and Ashley McAnulty (Mary Catherine), Brentwood, Tennessee; grandson Spencer Townes. She is also survived by sisters-in-laws(husbands); niece; nephews and their families; and her special beloved dog, Jackson.
Mrs. McAnulty graduated from the University of Tennessee where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics. She was active in leadership roles in local community and non-profit organizations including being a long-time member of Brentwood United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Encounter Sunday School Class. She had a lifelong involvement and membership in the Kappa Delta Sorority where she previously served as Alpha Epsilon chapter Vice President and National Province President. In addition, she was a Mortar Board Honor Society, in the University of Tennessee Homecoming court; and received recognition for academic honors. She was member of Les Candide Garden Club in Clarksville, Tennessee. She was instrumental in supporting and contributing to many local area organizations.
Her proudest role was that of a loving mother. Her children were the heart of her life, and she poured endless love, guidance and encouragement into her family and friends. She was known for her warm smile, gentle humor and deep faith that carried her, and those she loved, through all of life seasons. Her kindness, steady spirit and love will live on in all who had the blessing of knowing her.
The family offers its deepest appreciation and gratitude to all of Betty’s caregivers, especially Frances Phillips, Karen Sykes and Kiulani Mills.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Axford, Nicholas Balog, Mark Gorman, Hunter Hendry, Roger Hendry, Danny Nolan, Guy Rudisill, Phil Wenk, Frank Wilbert and Rhett Wilbert.
Friends are cordially invited to a Celebration of Life Service on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Brentwood United Methodist Church Chapel with a reception immediately following the service.
A private family graveside service and internment will take place at Hartsville Memorial Gardens in Hartsville, Tennessee on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
