Billie Joannah Sargent

She was born in Evarts, KY, on April 1, 1936. Billie was a longtime employee of Vanderbilt University and an active parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. Billie is preceded in death by her father, Robert Sargent; her mother, Gwendolyn Sargent; and a sister, Jeanie Glutch.

Survivors include her two children, Cathy (David) King of Nashville and Steve (Jean) Young, along with her grandchildren, Maggie King, Katie King, Luke Young, and Chad Young.

Billie was a fierce fan of Tennessee football, both Volunteers and Titans. Her love of animals and all things outdoors was legendary.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2017 from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church followed by a Funeral Mass starting at 1:00 P.M. A private graveside service will follow at Harpeth Hills Gardens.

The family would like to thank the caregivers of Avalon Hospice, Brighton Gardens, Home Instead, and her many loving friends.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to Nashville Humane Association, 213 Oceola Avenue, Nashville, TN 37209.
