

Bobby Gene Moore, 86, of Brentwood, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. He was born in the Mason Hall community of Gibson County in West Tennessee on September 9, 1939, to the late Brentz Bowen Moore and Nettie B. (Hollomon) Moore. He was preceded in death by his dear wife, Brenda Mai Moore (Sawyer); his brother, Jimmy Lyn Moore; and his son, Johnny Lyn Moore.
Bobby was a longtime member of Concord Road Church of Christ. A baseball enthusiast, he took great pleasure in coaching his sons’ youth teams, achieving remarkable success for someone who had never played the game. Bobby was also a collector of pocket knives. He displayed, bought, and sold his premium knives at markets, shows, and exhibitions throughout Tennessee and the southeastern states.
He was a Professional Engineer and Registered Land Surveyor, receiving both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Tennessee. He had a distinguished career spanning more than sixty years, the first half of which he spent serving in various county, regional, and state positions in Tennessee and Alabama with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service. He also served as City Engineer of Hendersonville, Tennessee, and advised firms in private practice in the Nashville area. In the twilight of his career, on a part-time basis, he supported H & H Land Surveying of Smyrna.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 6, with the service following at 11:00 a.m. at Concord Road Church of Christ in Brentwood. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, at Bethpage Church Cemetery in Mason Hall, Tennessee. Bobby will be laid to rest beside Brenda, his wife of sixty-three years.
Bobby is survived by his son, Tommy Sawyer Moore, and his wife, Terri Lee Tomlin Moore; daughter-in-law, Jeneane Savage Moore; four grandchildren, Johnathan David Moore, Catherine Elizabeth Moore, Jenna Nicole Moore Pitt and her husband, Jeremiah Thomas Pitt, and Tyler Brentz Sawyer Moore; and great-grandson, Vincent Earl Pitt, all of Middle Tennessee.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Church of Christ Disaster Relief Effort.
