

Bonnie Swaim Bandy, born March 10, 1941, went home to be with the Lord on June 28, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Woody and Nell Swaim, and her brother, Gary Swaim.
She leaves behind her husband of 65 years and the love of her life, Jim Bandy; her children Connie (Phil) Hasty, Patti (Marty) Huffman, and Bobby (Melanee) Bandy; grandchildren Robby (Emily) Sory, Erin (Brandon) Goodwin, Luke Bandy, and Liza Bandy; and great-grandsons Julian Goodwin and Sepp Goodwin.
Bonnie and Jim first met as students at David Lipscomb College, where their friendship quickly grew into a lifelong love story. Bonnie earned her Associate’s Degree from David Lipscomb College and worked while Jim finished his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. They were married on August 27, 1960.
She was also a devoted and active member of Crieve Hall Church of Christ for decades, faithfully serving, worshiping, and opening her home for home-cooked meals to college students who were far from home. She developed many lifelong relationships and impacted many lives in untold ways.
Bonnie was a loving wife, a wonderful mom, and a woman whose faith guided her every step. She loved God deeply, lived generously, and loved to bless others. So many people were blessed by her gifts such as painted sweatshirts, warm afghans, encouraging cards, and delicious cooking! Her smile and kindness will be remembered always.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Brentwood-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 9010 Church St. E., Brentwood, TN 37027. A celebration of life service will follow beginning at 2:00pm.
