Brian Loren Mogensen passed away on June 3, 2026, at his home in Brentwood, Tennessee, after several years of battling with ALS.
He was born on August 29, 1966, in La Mesa, California, to David Anker Mogensen (from Wells, Minnesota) and Bernice Carroll Griffith (from El Cajon, California).
Brian graduated from Pine River-Backus High School, and subsequently in September 1986 enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served as a Combat Signaler (MOS 31K10) with HHT 9th Cavalry Squadron at Fort Lewis, Washington, completing a 9-week Combat Signaler course. Following his military service, Brian attended St. Cloud State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance. Subsequently, Brian continued his education earning an MBA in Finance from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management in 1991. While pursuing this degree, he simultaneously managed an apartment complex. He went on to work at Kimberly-Clark in plant cost accounting, in Conway, Arkansas after his MBA.

Brian was a person of faith who believed in God. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and boating. He spent hours photographing nature and enjoyed taking photographs of his family and vacations. Brian spent some years racing sprint cars, winning numerous titles. He was especially proud of his dog, Nugget, whom he trained to compete in odor detection and human tracking. Nugget was ranked among the fastest dogs in the country. Brian also trained her to be his mobility service dog, a role she faithfully fulfilled throughout his illness.
He is predeceased by his father, David Mogensen.
