

Charmian Crum McLemore, age 88, passed away on October 27, 2015. She was born in Berwyn, IL on April 10, 1927 as the second of three children to the late Ferris and Blanche Crum. She grew up in Oak Park, IL. She attended the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) where she met her husband, John B. McLemore.
Charm was passionate about home economics, singing in the choir, bridge, and her family. She was a wonderful seamstress and made clothes ranging from everyday wear to wedding dresses. She also loved to cook. She was a Girl Scout leader for more than 25 years, and a leader in the United Methodist Women’s group and served as president of the Southern Connecticut district and Forest Hills United Methodist church in Brentwood. She loved music and performed regularly in various choirs and retirement homes. Charm always had a smile on her face.
Charm is survived by John B. McLemore, her husband of 66 years, 3 daughters, MaryLynn (Tom) Santa of Redding, CT, Sandy (Mike) Stimola of Redding, CT, Cindy (Ron) Chambers of Brentwood, TN, and two sons, Ken (Claudia) McLemore of Crosby, TX and Tom (Carole) McLemore of Ridgefield, CT.
Also, there are 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Winston Crum, and sister, Muriel Pollock, and granddaughter, Abigail McLemore Hernandez.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at eleven o’clock in the morning at Forest Hills United Methodist Church, 1250 Old Hickory Boulevard, Brentwood. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am at the church prior to the funeral. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Alzheimer’s Association or Forest Hills United Methodist Church.
