OBITUARY

Christopher Jarrod Reed II

October 6, 2009October 31, 2018

On October 6, 2009 a star was born. Throughout JR’s time on earth he was able to touch lives all across the country: San Diego, CA, Columbus, OH, Jacksonville, FL, and Nashville, TN. Having lived in 4 different states, JR quickly found that sports was a way to make meaningful connections. His passion for football, basketball, and track & field was evident to anyone who met him.

JR was in Mrs. Mullins’ 3rd grade class at Edmondson Elementary in Brentwood, TN. He left us to go to Heaven on October 31, 2018.

JR loved to laugh and make other people smile. He loved to watch highlights of Odell Beckham Jr., Steph Curry, and Kobe Bryant. He loved to play video games; not until his homework was done though 😉. He loved Bruno Mars and hiding snacks everywhere in the house. But most of all, he loved his family.

JR’s memories live through his family: parents Chris and Brittney; siblings Leilani, Jaylnn, and Kai; grandparents Carolina, Lisa, John and Jackie; uncles John Jr., Tony, and Zane; great-grandparents David Sr. and Veronica; and countless cousins, great-aunts and great-uncles.

To Chris and family our short time barber/client relationship I can say Jr was definitely a young fella who knew what to say at all times whether it was telling jokes or alking sports. To you and your wife i pray God's understanding and peace in your time of bereavement. When you have a moment in which it causes you to have a break down, God is our comforter, he is our strength when we're weak, God knows all and when we need understanding, he gives us clarity in his word. Man my heart grew weak when I got the texts tonight. Our sons played together at shop, so it hit real close to home. I lost my sister at 12 so can relate. Don't be afraid to get in isolation so you can get some information that brings revelation for clarity in your loss. Please call me any time if you need to talk to someone wo has be there. God's abundant love and blessings. DeJuan Conley

Dear Brittney, CJ, and Kids,
I am heartbroken to hear this news and my heart goes out to your family. May God give you peace in this time. Three years ago, I was lucky enough to be JR, Leilani, and Jaylnn's nanny in Jacksonville. We had such a fun time with so many great memories, and I just had to share a few.

JR had contagious energy, a great smile, and the best laugh. We spent hours and hours at the pool and he never stopped swimming. He was a fish! I loved watching him get along and play games with all of the neighborhood kids, he had so many friends who loved him. He loved getting ICEEs that made his mouth turn red and his eyes lit up one time I let him have ice cream at Chick-fil-a (sorry mom!). He loved learning new things at all the museums. He danced and sang crazy to all Jaylnn's movies and loved competing against Leilani in soccer. I will never forget the huge hug he gave me on my last day.

In my short time of knowing your family, I could see how much JR loved his sisters, adored his mom and looked up to his father. He (and Leilani and Jaylnn) always have and always will have a special place in my heart.

I am so sorry for your loss and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Love,
Stacey Stanfield

We are all so very sorry for your loss. Patrick wasn't in JR's class, but they played football at recess every day. Patrick said he was great at football and loved playing with him! We are grateful that he and JR had the chance to be friends this year. We are praying for you all and wish you comfort and peace during this difficult time.
