Born February 22, 1937 in Dunkirk, New York; died October 30, 2014 in Franklin, Tennessee.
Preceded in death by parents Paul V. and Kathryn C. Reber. Survived by June R. Smith; children Kirk C. and Christopher H. Reber (Dana); grandchildren Brittany Leonard (Jeremy), Olivia, Emma, and Ian Reber; great grandchildren Kaylie and Ava Leonard; and former wife Martha Reber.
Dave graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1955, from Dartmouth College in 1959, and received an architectural degree from Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1962. Throughout his lifelong practice of architecture, he boasted of associations with the likes of I.M. Pei.
For all the buildings designed by Dave that continue to testify to his talent and creativity, the legacies he was proudest of were his sons and grandchildren. Every sweet and endearing observation of his grandchildren brought smiles to Dave’s face that could light up the world. Whether casting a line, putting a ball, driving his antique Hudson, or cheering for Vanderbilt football, Dave was fully engaged.
Visitation will be held from twelve until two o’clock in the afternoon with a Memorial Service commencing at two o’clock on Monday, November 3 at Brentwood-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Dave may be made to Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH.
