

Mrs. Deters, a resident of Brentwood, Tennessee, died on May 24, 2024, in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by family. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Brentwood-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home from two o'clock until four o'clock in the afternoon.
Diane Mitchell Reams was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma Mitchell and Herman Lee Reams, and later stepfather, Lynwood H. Phaup. In Richmond, she was a member of Woodlawn Heights Baptist Church, a graduate of Manchester High School, and an alumnus of the Smithdeal-Massey College. She always remained proud of her native state and maintained close relations with her remaining family in Virginia.
After her marriage, Mrs. Deters moved to Brentwood, Tennessee in the early 1970's, where she enjoyed a long and rewarding career with United Methodist Communications (UMCom) in Nashville, Tennessee.
A fitting description of Mrs. Deters would be "Modern Classic." Intelligent, humorous, and beautiful, she balanced a successful career with raising a family. She met challenges and adversity with great poise and determination. She could be scrappy but was always gracious and graceful.
Mrs. Deters was a savvy financial manager and investor who followed the markets daily.. She was passionate about decor` and fashion, took great pride in her appearance and always looked her best.
She had a green thumb and deep passion for plants and flowers. This was evident in her love for cultivating and arranging them in vibrant displays for both her church and social occasions.
Despite her independent nature, Mrs. Deters valued marriage, having been happily joined in matrimony to three beloved husbands, all of whom she outlived: Thomas H. Eubank, Jr., Francis M. Cristina, and Larry E. Deters.
In addition to various flower and investment clubs, Mrs. Deters was a member of Forest Hills Baptist Church.
Most of all, Mrs. Deters will be remembered by those she leaves behind, as a loyal friend and confidant, a loving and supportive wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by two sisters, Joan P. Weeks of Richmond, Virginia and Gail R. Swain of Williamsburg, Virginia; children, Mary C. Stewart (Rick) of Roswell, Georgia, Thomas H. Eubank, III (Martha) of Memphis, Tennessee, Nancy C. Smith (Mike) of Juliette, Georgia and Brooke E. Anderson (Dan) of Nashville, Tennessee; grandchildren, William C. Stewart, Mary Catherine Stewart, Thomas H. Eubank, Louise W. Eubank, William F. Eubank, Eli T. Smith, Mitchell G. Anderson and E. Hill Anderson.
Flowers will be donated to the Flower the People organization for the redistribution to local hospitals and nursing homes.
