Dorothy Ann Brevard

Dorothy Ann (Grigsby) Brevard – 86 years old, born December 11, 1927 and passed away on November 2, 2014 peacefully at Morningside of Franklin, TN. Born in Elkton, TN, daughter of late Robert E. and Velma H. Grigsby, brother Warren H. Grigsby. Beloved wife of the late John H. Brevard of Nashville, TN.

Survived by children Debra D. Brevard, Mary M. and (Mike Gaw), John G. and (Donna Lannom Brevard), and grandchildren Justin Kelly Brevard and Jason Parker Brevard, and sister Betty Frances Campbell and (husband Bob.) She had dear nieces and nephews and numerous loving relatives and friends.

She was a homemaker, gardener, docent at Belle Meade Mansion, seamstress, caretaker and had many interests and passions. She was a devout Christian, active member of Belmont United Methodist Church, serving many years on the altar guild.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 6, one o’clock at Belmont United Methodist Church, 2007 Acklen Ave. Nashville, with a reception and Celebration of Life immediately following in Parker Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Belmont United Methodist Church, Christ United Methodist Church in Franklin, or the Nashville Alliance for the Mentally Ill.
